When God Leads Us Into the Unknown: A Shared Season of Renewal

Waiting in the Word
Waiting in the Word

There are seasons when God’s invitation is not to do more—but to go deeper.

I find myself in one of those seasons right now. And as I sit with it, I realize this season isn’t just about where God has me—it’s about where He has been faithfully leading so many of us together.

Over the past months, I’ve had the sacred honor of walking alongside clients who entered coaching longing for change.

Some came hoping to lose weight. Others came weary, burned out, or quietly longing for peace.

What unfolded was something far deeper than behavior change.

As they slowed down and turned their hearts toward God, something shifted.

They discovered rest.

They encountered restoration.

They experienced God not as a distant taskmaster, but as a present, loving guide.

Old patterns of striving began to loosen.

Long‑held unbeliefs about themselves were gently exposed and healed.

Relationships were mended.

Rhythms of peace began to replace perfectionism and performance.

What once felt like a constant battle slowly transformed into a growing awareness of identity in Christ.

And as they were being transformed through relationship with God… I was too.

When Transformation Is Mutual

Coaching has never been a one‑way street. As I’ve watched God meet my clients with tenderness and truth, I’ve found myself changed by His work in them. Their courage to trust Him more deeply invited me to do the same.

I began to sense God whispering that it was time for renewal.

Not an ending—but a holy pause.

A season to stop adding, stop striving, and allow Him to reshape what Rhythms of Grace Life Coaching is becoming.

I felt Him inviting me to step back from bringing on new clients for a time—not out of exhaustion, but out of obedience.

As several clients completed the season of work we had been called to do together, I noticed something gentle but clear: the Lord was asking me not to hurry into filling those open spaces.

I’m still coaching and walking closely with the clients currently on my schedule, but I’m also honoring this invitation to pause. To take the time once held for sessions and offer it back to God—to sit under His counsel, receive His guidance, and allow Him to continue training my heart. In this season, I’m learning what it means to let the Lord be my coach.

To become a client myself.

To sit at His feet.

To listen.

To receive.

What Do We Do in the Space of Not Knowing?

If I’m honest, this space of unknown can feel tender.

There’s the question many of us carry quietly:

What do I do when I don’t yet know what’s next?

One morning recently, I found myself listening to some of my favorite music to meditate on—gentle piano music layered with Scripture. No agenda. No planning. Just presence.

As the music and the Word washed over me, I sensed God reminding me of something simple and profound:

His Word is the place to dwell.

Not to rush ahead.

Not to demand answers.

But to remain—allowing Him to reveal, restore, and renew in His timing.

When Everything Feels Unsteady, God Is Not

“For I am the Lord, I do not change.” — Malachi 3:6

Seasons change.

Callings evolve.

But God does not.

In times of transition, this truth becomes an anchor. The unknown does not mean God is distant. Often, it means He is inviting us closer—calling us to trust Him in a new way.

God’s Word Is Still Working

“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void…” — Isaiah 55:11

God’s Word is never wasted—not in action, and not in waiting.

Sometimes the Word is sent not to change circumstances immediately, but to prepare hearts. To soften soil. To align us with what He is doing beneath the surface.

What Holds When Everything Else Shakes

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” — Matthew 24:35

Plans may shift. Roles may change. But God’s Word remains steady—speaking truth, offering guidance, and holding us firm when everything else feels uncertain.

Remembering God’s Faithfulness

“Not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken… All came to pass.” — Joshua 21:45

Looking back, Israel saw that God had kept every promise.

Not quickly.

Not easily.

But faithfully.

Waiting is not failure. Pausing is not disobedience. Often, it is preparation.

Every Promise Finds Its Yes in Jesus

“For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen.” — 2 Corinthians 1:20

God is not undecided about His promises.

They are fulfilled in Christ.

Our invitation is not to force clarity, but to stay close—to abide, trust, and follow as He unfolds what’s next.

A Season of Holy Waiting

So for now, I am choosing to wait.

I’m allowing the time once spent in sessions to become time spent with the Lord—listening, learning, and letting Him continue His training. New dreams are forming. Fresh vision is stirring. I don’t yet see the full picture, but I trust the One who does.

If you find yourself in a similar place—between what was and what will be—know this:

You are not behind. You are not failing. You are being invited deeper.

Sometimes the most faithful thing we can do is to dwell in His Word, trust His presence, and wait with hope.

Stay tuned… as I continue discovering what God is shaping next.
